Counselor-in-Training Program (Ages 13-16)

Want to learn what it’s like to work at a rock climbing gym? Our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program is perfect for climbers (aged 13-15) with previous climbing experience.

CITs will receive hands-on career development, valuable experience mentoring younger kids, 1:1 climbing coaching with plenty of time to pursue their own climbing goals.  This program is a unique opportunity to learn more about jobs in the rock climbing industry, everything from coaching to route setting and facility management!

This year, we are also offering a Girls + week of CIT:

The Girls + Climbing Program is a new initiative designed to center and elevate the experience of young women and gender expansive individuals within the professional climbing gym environment. In a sport that has historically been male-dominated, this program focuses on building a dedicated network where participants feel empowered, supported, and confident.

Within a week, our kid went from being an utter novice to climbing with confidence-- tackling a more challenging wall, pausing near the top and seeing that she had misstepped, looking up and down to re-strategize her path forward/ up and getting to the top. What a fantastic combination of skill-building, play, and fun-- As the kid attests, "It rocks!"
